Telehealth Psychotherapy from the comfort of your own home.
Welcome
Let's be honest, this whole "being a person" gig can be rough. The demands of daily life, understanding ourselves and others, and making meaningful shifts can feel overwhelming. Where do we even start? If this sounds like you, it may be time to try something new. I believe all of us have the capacity to learn and grow in ways that are meaningful to each of us. If you’d like to work with me, we’ll create an environment that matches how you best learn and grow. Do you need gentleness and compassion? Humor and banter? Direct feedback? Visuals and tools? We’ll do what works best for you. My role is to walk alongside you, with compassion and non-judgment, to help pave the way.
Focus of My Practice
My practice focuses on supporting adolescents, young adults, adults, and families dealing with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, identity exploration, gender identity/exploration, trauma processing, neurodivergence, life transitions, relationship issues, stress, parent-child conflict, parenting support, and other mental health needs.
I strive to be affirming to all identities and areas of diversity, such as gender, race, sexual orientation, ability, body diversity, and neurodiversity. I enjoy working with LGBTQIA+, Non-Binary, and Trans clients and their families, as well as individuals who may be exploring their multiple and intersecting identities. I bring compassion, humor, and real talk about how your lived experience interacts with our world. I'd love to hear from you.
Kristy Barrette, LMFT

About me
I have been a practicing clinician since 2009. I have a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Behavioral Science with a Double Major in Psychology (2007; San Jose State University) and a Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (2010; California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo). My experience includes working with: young adults exploring their transition into adulthood; gender diverse individuals, including support in accessing affirming medical care and educating family members on gender diversity; individuals exploring their many intersecting identities; providing specialty mental health services with youths (and their families) ages 0-21 who have severe mental health needs; providing school support/advocacy; providing parent coaching and support; working with at-risk youths and families by providing Wraparound services in their homes and communities; and providing clinical supervision to developing clinicians. I am a mother of two, enjoy playing music, and enjoy the outdoors.
